Running for Cover

When the opportunity arose to run the London Marathon in 2017, there seemed no better time than to host our own CAPE event!

Our  goal was simply to have fun and celebrate after running, whilst supporting a wonderful cause. We love bringing people together and creating lasting memories, and chose to run in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, sadly knowing the damaging effects of dementia.

We wanted to create an open space which would inspire joy in a safe and welcoming environment. With 5 acres of private gardens and close to the marathon route, the Walks at Gray's Inn provided the perfect oasis to share hospitality with friends and family after the race.

Hospitality Covered

Hospitality included a fabulous hog roast served from London Hog Roast Company. There was a selection of GU desserts and cheeses from Borough Market, all of which were kindly donated. DiWine Piemonte supported the event and offered fantastic wine tastings with accompaniments. A great selection of beer was provided courtesy of Sambrooks Brewery, Rebellion Brewery and Temple Brew House, and Wayfinder Gin added extra spirit.

Giorgia Mollo headlined the entertainment and there was a bouncy castle and giant games for kids, and big kids alike.

Through the raffle on the day and donations, we raised much needed funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Thanks so much to all our friends and family who supported us, we were delighted to see so many of you.

We hope to see you at another event soon!

Cape Credits

Our runners Tatyana and Louise, supported by a superhero events team in Carmen, Tassia and Kanako who had all the pressure off the course. They absolutely smashed it and we couldn't imagine having the inaugural CAPE event delivered by anyone else.

Anthony, Juris, Simon and all the team at Gray's Inn for hosting at their beautiful venue

Emma, Amy, and all involved in Fulham Running Club for providing inspiration through training and since
